LASIEC Chairperson, Justice Bola Okikiolu -Ighile (Rtd) Commends Ojodu LCDA For Election Preparedness

The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) team, led by Chairperson Honourable Justice Bola Okikiolu Ighile (Rtd), visited Ojodu LCDA to evaluate its preparedness for the upcoming local government elections.

 

Justice Ighile reiterated LASIEC’s commitment to conducting credible elections across all 57 LGAs and LCDAs in Lagos State. She emphasized that the visit aimed to assess logistical readiness and strengthen collaboration with council administrations to enhance grassroots electoral processes. She noted that LASIEC had deployed increased manpower and logistical support to ensure a seamless exercise.

She commended Ojodu LCDA on it’s readiness and urged it’s leadership to intensify voter education and stakeholder engagement, stressing that increased civic awareness would lead to higher voter participation. She expressed confidence in a credible and peaceful electoral process, assuring residents of LASIEC’s dedication to fairness and transparency.

In response, the Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Olusegun Odunmbaku commended LASIEC for its proactive approach and efforts to ensure a smooth election. After leading the team on an inspection of the LASIEC office, he reaffirmed the council’s commitment to supporting LASIEC’s requirements for free and fair elections. He also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unwavering support for LCDAs’ development.

The Executive Chairman was joined in receiving the visiting entourage by the SLG, Hon Olaide John Bello, Hon Lekan Peters, Council Manager, Engr Bunmi Akintoye, Council Treasurer, Mr Oladapo Ibrahim, Council Engineer, Mr Adetola Akeju and Council Auditor, Mr Dosunmu.
