Preparations have intensified for the Roundtable segment of the 3rd Wale Olomu Memorial Awards and Roundtable (WOMA-R), scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025.

This year’s edition, themed “Unsung Legends Who Shaped Today’s Glory,” brings together some of the country’s most insightful voices to examine the evolution, influence and responsibilities of entertainment journalism within Nigeria’s creative economy.

The 2025 Roundtable will feature a distinguished panel drawn from music, media, digital culture and contemporary creative practice.

Confirmed participants include Wunmi Obe, multi-award-winning singer, songwriter and bandleader, who also serves as Executive Director, Business Development and Innovation at Punch Nigeria Limited; Olumide Iyanda, former entertainment writer at The Punch, former Editor of Saturday Independent, Publisher of QEDng and Deputy President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers; Jide Taiwo, writer, media executive, cultural strategist and author of K1 De Ultimate: A Legacy Secured, History Made and other works; Aralola Olamuyiwa, the notable lady talking drummer and versatile performer; broadcaster Jimi Akinniyi, popularly known as Jimi the Baldheaded Guy, a digital content executive at ScreenNolly and ex-TV producer at TVC News; and Deborah Lawal (aka Kayefi Osha) – UK-based Afro-soul singer, songwriter and storyteller.

The Roundtable, airing live on TopRadio 90.9 FM, will set the stage for the Awards ceremony on Saturday, 20 December, where three Lifetime Achievement honourees and at least five Special Recognition award recipients will be celebrated for their contributions to Nigerian entertainment.

The full list of Special Recognition awardees will be released early on 20 December.

Chairman of the Steering Committee and veteran broadcaster, Tokunbo Ojekunle noted that the seven-member body is working with renewed vigour to deliver a deeply reflective and inspiring edition that honours the legacy of the late Adéwálé Olomu, whose pioneering work in entertainment journalism remains a touchstone for the industry.
