Let’s ‘Dematerialize’ The Gospel

The Pentecostal brand has lately been scandalized by the reckless, immoral acts of our greedy, grubbing, grabbing and luxury loving leaders. We are in pursuit of GOLD, not GOD.

We are no longer ‘serving tables’ but literally ‘eating tables.’ Word of Faith and the prosperity message have since become an excuse for ruthless and primitive acquisition of worldly and vain inanities. The insatiable need of ‘status symbols’ are now the driving force of our so-called anointed but helplessly greedy leaders. Greed is running riot, disrupting relationships and dishonoring the name of the land in the land. Debauchery of all kinds; perversity and seduction of all that is sacred and utterly insensitive to the pain and suffering in the land.

I was profoundly sad yesterday when a senior minister of the gospel confessed to me that he no longer introduces himself as an Apostle. He feels the public have no respect for us any more. A Catholic Priest has more honour before the people than our Pentecostal Bishops. Sacrifice, selflessness and empathy have long been displaced within the Pentecostal fold by ‘me, I and myself’ and senseless arrogance.

We need Revival, Lord!
