Macdonald Ebere: Solid Chairman, Solid Structure 

Yes, I have known him over the years, both as a growing young chap and Transition Committee, T.C, Of Owerri Municipal Council. You rate a Man by the challenges and responsibilities he is able to shoulder. For me, and many others, who are lovers of democracy and development, the emergence of MacDonald Ebere did not come as a surprise. We have a  saying in  Igbo, “Ana Eji Anya  Ama Oka Kaara Aka”……… You use your eyes to know how to put  a round  peg in a round hole. Definitely, you don’t put a square peg in a round hole.  His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma should be commended  for having the foresight in recommending and ensuring the Owerri Nchi Ise born technocrat and intellectual  emerged the State Chairman of APC. No doubt MacDonald has brought his vast Administrative ingenuity, experience and acumen acquired in the Management of Men, Resources and Materials,  Special Adviser on Imo State Agencies, ENTRACO, T.C Chairman Emeritus of Owerri Municipal Council, Lecturer in many Institutions of Higher learning,  business man, committed Soldier of Christ. Expectedly, MacDonald Ebere PhD brought these experiences to bear on his assignment as the State Chairman of APC.

I should not be seen as one who has come to praise-sing, but as one who has come to set the record straight, as far as Party leadership/Politicking  is concerned.  Therefore, my piece on MacDonald and his  contribution in consolidating the Hope Uzodimma administration, through the ingenious  management of party affairs, will be done in series: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, etc, as the case may be.

MacDonald, since his assumption of Office as the State Chairman of APC, has continued to discharge his Duties honourably, respectfully, efficiently and  effectively, both on the vertical dimension and on the horizontal dimension.

On the vertical dimensional level, Sir MacDonald Ebere ensures  the presence of  APC is felt  in every home in the state, through deliberate strategy of selling the party’s programs to the people. This he does through his Open Door Policy of reaching out to party leaders, ordinary party members,  stakeholders in the Imo project and non-party members. On the horizontal dimension,  he relates with his subordinates with esteemed dignity, respect and honour. No wonder, Party Executives at various levels in the State are working in synergy and harmony with one another. Hence, there are no crisis or conflict of any kind in APC in the state, unlike what is obtainable in other Political Parties. This has in no small measure contributed in showcasing the 3-R leadership of Governor Hope Uzodinma as a result-oriented administration. I state this because if the ruling party is in crisis, the Government would also be in crisis, without any visible achievements. However, there are many  tangible and intangible  Achievements accomplished by the Hope Uzodimma administration, vis-avis,

* The Orashi Port dredging into Atlantic Ocean, with a Naval Base.

* Recovery of a University for the State.

* Construction of a Brand New Polytechnics at Omuma (Oru Nation).

* Graduation of Medical Doctors,  after many years of Non-Accreditation of the Medical faulty in Imo State University.

* Solid Signature Road Infrastructures in Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe Zones spanning Hundreds of kilometers of dualized roads, with Street lights.

* Hundreds of kilometers of Internal Roads in the three zones, Including a Balloon technology system that has considerably abetted massive flooding in the State capital, Owerri.

* Reconstructing almost all the roads in my territory at Ikenegbu Layout Extension Owerri.

* Regular Payment of Salaries and Pensions

*. Youth Empowerments at various levels.

And so on and so forth.

The point I am making is that if Hon Sir MacDonald Kelechi Ebere led Imo APC is in crisis, Governor Hope Uzodinma would have devoted time, energy and resources he would have used in giving Ndimo dividends of his leadership to fighting for supremacy  and party structures. Pointedly therefore, the positive attributes and virtues  of MacDonald Ebere stands him out as a leader who should be further trusted to continue the good works he is doing in Imo APC.

Now that the 2023 Election is drawing closer, the MacDonald Ebere led Imo APC has continued to reach out to the people, through town Hall Meetings across the 27 LGAs of the state. What other way and manner do we describe somebody with Capacity? With his dynamic talents and ingenuity, MacDonald Kelechi Ebere PhD has converted and indeed “won” more Souls to  Imo APC, in preparation for the 2023 Elections.

 *Let Me Open The Minds Of The Reading Public:*

The Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, ably and comfortably led by Hon MacDonald Kelechi Ebere PhD, flagged off its preliminary Operational Activities (grassroots consultation, mobilization, taking its messages and campaign based issues to all the communities, as well as wards in the state)  for the 2023 campaigns in a grand style in Owerri North LGA, exactly one Month ago.  For two and half  weeks, the State Executive Committee transversed the length and breath of the state, consulting and  marketing the programs and policies of the party, in town hall meetings. This exercise was rounded off in Owerri Municipal, with great testimonies from stakeholders and the people of Imo State of their continued support and  desire for the 3-R Administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma to consolidate  on its  gains, by renewal of mandate and other positions come 2023.

When you have a Solid Personality as Chairman of a Political Party in a State, such as Imo,  Stakeholders and the Masses naturally becomes voluntary structures.

Clearly, *Hon Sir MacDonald Kelechi Ebere* has distinguished himself in all Political Endeavors, which has continued to  earn  support and solidarity for the party.
