Makinde Approves Recruitment Of 338 OYRTMA Officers

The Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has approved recruitment of 338 officers into the Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) to enhance road traffic and regulation across the state.

 

This was stated by the OYRTMA Chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya (Rtd) recently during the ongoing screening exercise held at OYRTMA operational headquarters, Sanyo, Ibadan.

He stressed that the screening exercise is a manifestation of responsive govenance by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde who deemed the approval fit to increase the strength of OYRTMA with 338 officers.

According to the Chairman, the Agency received 2, 450 applications, from qualified candidates.

He added that, the approval was in pursuance as a result of revalidated approval policy signed in 2021.

In his word, “we have here today able bodied men and women from Ogbomosho, Ibarapa, Oke Ogun, Oyo town,and Ibadan, competing for the various positions in OYRTMA from today 20th May 2024 and ends May 25th.

Adekoya said that, this recruitment exercise is organised with collaborative efforts of the state Civil Service Commission and Ministry of Establishment and Training.

The Chairman added that after the exercise, successful candidates will fill these vacant positions:
GL 08 Road Traffic Officer 02(RTO) B.SC
GL 08 Higher Road Traffic Superintendent (HRTS) HND
GL 07 Road Traffic Superintendent (RTS)
GL 06 Assistant Road Traffic Superintendent (ARTS)
GL, 05 Senior Road Traffic Assistant I (SRTA)
GL.04 Road Traffic Assistant I (RTA)
GL.03 Road Traffic Assistant II(RTA)

According to the chairman, the screening Exercise entails registration, accreditation, physical test and medical test.

He added that qualified applicants at first stage will move to other stages before interview session that would be conducted by the civil service commission and ministry of Establishment and Training.

Major Adesagba (rtd) enjoined the applicants to follow all instructions by the instructors and take it as an advantage to reduce unemployment in Oyo state.

Speaking Earlier, Chairman Civil Service Commission, who was represented by the Senior Administrative officer on recruitment, Mr. Adelowo Oladapo commended Oyo State government for the opportunity of reducing the pressure of unemployment in the state.

In his remarks, the Director, Recruitment and Service matters, Ministry of Establishment and Training, Mr. Olusola Ojelabi, highlighted the exercise as a proactive step to address road traffic enforcement, rule and regulations.
