Man, 21, Arraigned For Having Sex With Lady, 24, In Her Parent’s Home 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 14th day of March, 2026, at about 1000hrs at Adeoye Adeyeri Street, Wasimi Estate, Maryland, Lagos.

However, after they were caught, the victim told her mother that the suspect engaged her in sex without her consent. Thus, her mother reported to the Police at Ikeja Division that the victim was raped in her house by the suspect.

The Police subsequently arrested and detained the suspect at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct, which he admitted to.

The Police found him culpable for his conduct and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charge read:

COUNT I: “That you, Segun Joshua ‘m’, on the 14th day of March, 2026, at about 1000hrs at No. 58, Adeoye Adeyeri street Wasimi Estate, Maryland, Ikeja Lagos, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did have sexual intercourse with the victim, ‘f, age 24years old, without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 260 of Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015. “

The prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
