Man, 22, Arrested For Selling Hard Drugs To Commercial Drivers At Lagos Bus Stops

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested a 22-year old man, Aminu Adamu, for allegedly hawking and selling hard drugs to commercial drivers at different bus stops in the State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Adamu, was caught by the Police at Alaagba Bus Stop, Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos, with some quantity of tramadol and other drugs, which he was selling to drivers and encouraged them take the drugs in order to enhance their driving skills.
However, he ran out of luck when the Police operatives from Eleyele Division in Agege, while on routine monitoring arrested and detained him at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
The Police also recovered the drugs as exhibits and then interrogated him on why he was selling the drugs at the bus stops in the State.
During interrogation, Adamu told the Police that his major customers were the commercial drivers, who take the drugs in order to enhance their driving skills on the highway.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for allegedly selling the noxious drugs to members of the public including passengers.
However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Evelyn Ehieniua, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. M.A. Adegbaye, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
