A 23-year old man, Ibeh Michael, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly inserting his finger into the private part of his neighbour’s 8-year old daughter.

The incident happened on 16th day of November 2025, at Church Street, Ijora Badia, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim and penetrated her with his finger in order to satisfy his sexual desires. And having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go.
The matter got exposed after the victim informed her parents about what happened. The matter was then reported to the Police in the area and the victim was arrested. From there, he was transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:.
“That you, Ibeh Michael ‘m’, on the 16th day of November 2025, at Church Street, Ijora Badia, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault the victim, ‘f’ 8years old by penetrating  her vagina with your finger and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Njeria 2015.”

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s legal advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
