Man, 24, Watches Self On CCTV Camera While Stealing Cables From Transformer

A 24-year old man, Olusegun Eniola, had a nasty experience in Lagos State after he went in the early hours of the morning and stole transformer cables not knowing he was captured by the CCTV camera until it was played and he watched himself on the screen while carting away the cables. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Agric Road, Egan area of Lagos, where the transformer was located with the cables linked to Queen Hotel, where the CCTV camera was mounted.
Trouble started after the management of the hotel discovered that they had no light and contacted the electricity distribution company to find out what went wrong without any suspicion of any vandalism.
However, the staff of the electric company discovered that the cables linked to the hotel from the transformer were tempered with and stolen. The management then went and played the CCTV focused on the location of the transformer and it captured Eniola with a saw blade, which he used in cutting the cables.
He was trailed and arrested by the Police at Igando Division. It was there the CCTV camera footage was shown to him and he was shocked watching himself stealing the cables.
Having seen himself on the CCTV,  he reportedly realised that there was no point denying; he admitted to have done so and pleaded for forgiveness to no avail.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for stealing.
He pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a short date for facts and sentence since he pleaded guilty to the charge that brought him before the Court.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu, adjourned the matter till 7th November, 2022, for facts and sentence. Meanwhile, he was remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will be jailed properly.
