Man, 25, Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing N38m Rolex Wrist Watch At Roxbury Home

A 25-year old man, Lorlumum Mmemngu Victor, has been arrested and charged for allegedly stealing a Rolex wrist watch valued at £20,000 Pounds equivalent of N38m belonging to Kirsty Emeshilli at Roxbury Leisure Home in Lagos State. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 29th December, 2024  at Roxbury Leisure Home, Orchid Road, Ajah, Lagos.

 

After the incident, the matter was reported to the Commissioner of Police Special Squad two at Ikeja State Command Headquarters. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the suspect and detained him for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

 

The Police found him culpable after thorough investigation and charged him before the Yaba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read :

COUNT I: “That you Lorlumum Mmemngu Victor ‘m’ and others at large, on the 29th December, 2024 at 11:30pm at Roxbury Leisure Home, Orchid Road, Ajah, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit: stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

COUNT II:”That you Lorlumum Mmemngu Victor ‘m’ and others still at large, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did dishonestly steal a Rolex wrist watch valued the sum of Twenty Thousand Pounds (£20,000) equivalent of Thirty Eight Million, One Hundred and Fifty One Thousand, Three Hundred and Eighty Naira (N38,151,380.00), property of one Kirsty Emeshilli ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280(1)(a)(b) and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Thomas Nurudeen, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, granted him bail in the sum of N5m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
