Man, 25, Arrested As Thief For Sneaking Into Woman’s Apartment For Sex

A 25-year old man, Tobi Adu, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly sneaking into a woman’s apartment to beg for sex but his whole plan failed woefully. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the woman, Vivian Obi, raised alarm and claimed that he was a  thief who sneaked into her apartment and stole her N40,000 in the process. He was apprehended and handed over to the Police for prosecution.
The incident happened on 24th December, 2024, at Taiye Odunjo Street, Egbeda, Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect was arrested and detained at Idimu Police Division for interrogation over his alleged conduct. And during interrogation, he reportedly told the Police that he was not a thief but only went to the complainant’s apartment to beg for sex before she raised alarm.
However, his explanation could not save him as the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read :
“That you, Tobi Adu TOBI  on the 24th day of December, 2024 at about 2315hrs at No. 7 Taiye Odunjo Street, Egbeda, Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully enter into the house of one Vivian Jones ‘F’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 308 (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
COUNT II:-“That you, Tobi Adu  on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did steal the sum of N40,000 forty thousand Naira the property of one Vivian Jones, ‘F’ and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 280(1) (a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.A. Popoola, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
