A 25-year old man, Ishaya Madaki, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly tricking a 16-year old girl into sex romp by fondling her breasts, getting her confused and was unable to resist it.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Madaki, has been arrested.
The incident happened at Post Service Housing Estate, Iyana Iba area of Lagos, where they reside.
According to Police, the suspect took advantage of the victim despite the fact she is still a minor and engaged her in sex by luring her into his apartment and getting her confused.
He was alleged to have used words of mouth to confuse her before he grabbed and fondled her breasts, which got her more confused and unable to resist it before he had carnal knowledge of her.
The alleged act was said to have been going on since 2022 before she opened up and told her parents what had been happening to her.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for interrogation over the alleged conduct.
During interrogation, the suspect told the Police that he did not force the girl into the act and he had always slept her with her consent. But the girl denied and claimed that he lured her into the act without her consent.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the Correctional Centre pending the outcome of DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 12th April, 2023, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
