Man, 25, Burgles 2 Redeemed Christian Churches & Carts Away 2 Air Conditioners

A 25-year old man, Ola Sunday Clement, has been arrested and charged in the Lagos State for allegedly breaking into two Redeemed Christian Church of God Parishes, carting away their two units of air conditioners and escaped. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the church parishes, namely Life Changers and Holy Hill parishes, in Idimu area of Lagos, where the churches are located.
According to the Police, the suspect went to the churches at night when the members had gone home, broke the iron bar protectors, which were built to protect the air conditioners, carted them away and escaped.
However, when the church management got to the church and discovered that the churches were burgled and the items were stolen, they went to Idimu Police Division and reported what happened.
Hence, the Police moved into action, arrested Clement and detained him at the station for interrogation over suspicion of criminal conduct over the stolen items.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged stealing, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, he pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. K.A. Ariyo, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned till 11th December, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
