Man, 25, Docked For Fondling Breasts Of Girl, 13, Engaging In Sex & Impregnating Her

A 25-year old man, Nwaekuegu Bernard, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 13-year old girl into sex after fondling her breasts and Impregnating her in the process. 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Bernard, has been arrested and charged for defilement.

The incident happened on February, 2025 at Okurede Street, Olojo, Ojo area of Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim to his apartment, fondled her breasts to get her confused her and in the process penetrated her. He warned her not to tell anyone about it.

However, few months later, the victim became sick and a test was conducted on her. The result showed that she was pregnant and she mentioned the suspect as being responsible for the pregnancy.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

The Police found him culpable after thorough investigation and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the Prosecutor, Supol Phillip Ademigbuji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.

The charge read:

“That you, Nwaekuegu Bernard ‘m’, sometime in the month of January to February, 2025 at about 2300hours, at  Okurede Street, Olojo Ojo Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim, 13years old by having sexual intercourse with her, which resulted into a pregnancy and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
