Man, 25, Sent To Prison For Stealing Food Items At Popular Eatery

A 25-year old man, Adeder Ibrahim, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing food items at popular eatery. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 7th May, 2025, at Cravings And More Eatery located at Orelope bus-stop, Egbeda-Idimu rRoad, Egbeda area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect was caught for stealing the items and was handed over to the Police at Idimu Division for interogation and prosecution over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, ADEDER IBRAHIM ‘M’ on the 7th day of May, 2025, at about 0700hrs at No. 60 Orelope bus-stop, Egbeda-idimu Road, Egbeda in the Lagos magisterial district, did steal the following items: one pack of maggi, seven pieces of big turkey, eight pieces of sachet peak milk, 9kg rice, grounded pepper, one bottle of vegetable oil, two pieces of spaghetti, and 30 litters of diesel total valued at two hundred and fifty thousand naira (N250,000.00) property of CRAVINGS AND MORE EATERY ably represented by one MOJISOLA AKINBOWALE ‘F’ and thereby commited an offence punishable under Section 287(7) in the criminal laws of Lagos State 2015.”
He pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while address will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 16th June, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
