Man, 26, Arraigned For Allegedly Strangling Lady’s Neck In Squabble Over Sex

A 26-year old man, Nura Musa, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly strangling the neck of a lady, Rachcal Aricha, during a squabble in order to steal her phone over sex. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at night on 18th August, 2025, at 14 Abeokuta Street, Pleasure Bus Stop, Oke-Odo area of Lagos.

 

According to the Police,  the suspect had a disagreement with the complainant at night over sex and he grabbed her neck to strangle her and steal her phone in the process.

The matter was reported to the Police at Oke-Odo Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

 

The Police found him culpable after thorough interrogation and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

COUNT I: “That you, Nura Musa ‘m’ on the 18th day of August, 2025 at about 9:40pm, at No 14 Abeokuta Street, Pleasure Bus Stop, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did unlawfully assault One Racheal Aricha ‘f by strangling her neck with the intent to steal from her and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 175 of the criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.”

 

COUNT II: “That you, Nura Musa ‘m’ on the same date, time, and place in the aforementioned Magistrate District, did steal One Tecno Android Phone valued N130, 000:00 (One Hundred and Thirty Thousand Naira Only) property of one Rachcal Aricha ‘f’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 (1) (a) and (b) and punishable under Section 287 (5) (a) of Criminal Law of Lagos State Nigeria 2015.”

 

However, he pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor,Supol Philip Ademigbuji asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence that brought him before the Court.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
