Man, 27, Snatches N11m Toyota Camry Car Armed With Knife

A 27-year old man, Kelvin Musa, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State over armed robbery for allegedly using a knife to snatch N11m Toyota Camry car belonging to Adeola Alabi Nurudeen.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 22nd February, 2025, at Ile Zik area of Agege Lagos.
According to the Police, the suspect targeted the victim and stabbed him with the knife severally on his body. He was said to have bled profusely before the suspect snatched the car and escaped.
However,  the matter was reported to the Police. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained him for interrogation over his alleged criminal conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT I:”That you, Kelvin Musa ‘m’ on the 22nd day of February 2025 at Ile Zik Agege in the Ikeja Magisterial District, while armed with a knife and with the application of violence, did steal one Toyota Camry car valued the sum of Eleven Million Naira (N11,000,000.00) property of one Adeola Alabi Nurudeen ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 297 (B) of the Lagos State Criminal Law 2015.”
COUNT II:”That you, Kelvin Musa ‘m’ on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did unlawfully assaulted one Adeola Alabi Nurudeen ‘m’ by stabbing him with a knife all over his body and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 173 of the Lagos State Criminal Law 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP”s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
