Man, 29, Arrested For Killing Lover, 30, Inside Hotel Room

A 29-year old man, Timothy Ekem, has been arrested for allegedly killing his female lover, Fortune Ohiero, whom he lodged in a popular hotel in Abia State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Chrismary Hotel, located at 82 Clifford Road, Aba in Abia State.
This was disclosed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, who confirmed that the suspect has been arrested and detained at the Command where he is undergoing interrogation over his alleged conduct.
She explained that the Police got a report about the incident on 4th December, 2023 and swung into action to unravel the matter as the lifeless body of the deceased was found in a room at the hotel with scars, her personal effects were also in the room.
“At about 5pm on 4th December ,2023 the Police received a report that an unidentified person allegedly killed a female friend he lodged with at Chrismary Hotel, situated at 82 Clifford Road, Aba and ran away unnoticed.”
“On receipt of the report, Divisional Police Officer, Ndiegoro, in the company of other personnel visited the scene. The deceased was found lying dead on the hotel bed with marks of violence seen on her body. A handbag and four pairs of new female shoes were also found in the hotel room.”
“Photographs of the deceased were taken and the corpse was evacuated and deposited at the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.”
It was reported that during investigations by the State Cid, the fleeing suspect was identified and tracked to his hiding place at Ogada II Village in Obubara Local Government Area of Cross River State.
He was arrested in collaboration with the Cross River State Police Command and confessed to the crime. Investigation has been concluded by the State CID and the suspect will be charged in Court.
The suspect risks several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment for the alleged offence under the Criminal law of the State if he is found guilty before the Court for the alleged murder.
