A 31-year old man, Ali Zakari Dijo, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured a 16-year old girl, sucked her breasts and got her confused before he penetrated her.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Araromi Street, Anifowoshe area of Ikeja, Lagos, where they reside.
The Police alleged that the suspect, Dijo, abused the girl after he lured her to his apartment and used words of mouth to confuse her before fondling and sucking her breasts. In the process, the victim was said to have became more confused and unable to resist him before he eventually defiled her by penetration of her private part.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested and later transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command for interrogation over the conduct.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment if found guilty before the Court.
However, when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije ordered his remand in custody at Correctional Centre pending the outcome of DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 13th December, 2022, for report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
