Man, 32, Lands In Police Net Over S*x With Neighbour’s Girl, 6

A 32-year old man, Edeh Joseph, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he allegedly lured and engaged a neighbour’s 6-year old girl in a sex romp.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Fagbola Street, Orile Agege area of Lagos State, where they reside. 

The Police alleged that the suspect lured the little girl into his apartment, removed her pants and penetrated her in the process. The girl was said to have sustained injury in her private part. Having satisfied himself, the suspect allowed the little girl to go and warned her not to tell anyone including her parents despite the injury she sustained during the act. 

However, when the girl got home with the injury, she informed her parents about what happened and the matter was reported to the Police, who arrested Joseph and detained him for interrogation over his conduct. 

After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement.

But when he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice since the victim is still a minor. 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A Layinka, ordered his remand in custody pending when the DPP’s report will be ready and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 4th July, 2022, for the report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
