A 31-year old man, Stephen Bona, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly engaging a 15-year old girl in sex severally before it later got exposed.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Bona, has been arrested and charged for defilement under the Criminal Law of the State.
The incident happened between January and March,2026, at Ikotun-Idimu Road,  Ikotun, Lagos.
The alleged conduct was reported to the Police at Ikotun Division. The Police operatives moved into action, arrested the suspect and detained him at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
While being interrogated, the suspect claimed that he actually slept with her severally with her consent before it was exposed. He equally insisted that it was not a case of defilement as alleged by her parents.
However, the Police found him culpable because the victim is still a minor under the law and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
“That you ,Stephen Bona ‘m’, sometime in January and March 2026 at Ikotun-Idimu Road, Ikotun, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim ‘f 15years old by penetrating her vagina with your manhood and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 137, of the Lagos State Criminal Criminal Law, 2015.”

The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Philip Ademigbuji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate,  Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
