Man, 33, Arraigned For Allegedly Stealing Bicycle At BBA

A 33-year old man, Timothy Olamide, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing a bicycle  worth N200,000 at Balogun Business Association (BBA) area at Trade Fair Complex. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 29th September, 2025
According to the Police, the suspect went where the management of BBA parked the bicycle and stole it and escaped. It was later discovered that he was the person that stole it.
The matter was reported to the Police at Trade Fair Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After thorough interrogation,  the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
The charges read:
“That you, Timothy Olamide ‘m’, on 29th day of September, 2025, at about 1200hrs in BBA, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos, in the Lagos magisterial district, did steal a bicycle valued N200,000 (Two hundred Thousand Naira), property of the Management of BBA Trade Fair Complex and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
Count II:”That you, Timothy Olamide ‘m’, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid magisterial district, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by going to the market to steal a bicycle belonging to BBA Management of Trade Fair and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 168 (d) and punishable under sub Section (2) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
