A 33-year old man, Sodiq Obasanu, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly molesting his 2-year old girl by inserting his fingers into her private part.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that he has been arrested and charged for the alleged sexual assault on the little girl.
The Police alleged that the man took the victim to their apartment and inserted his fingers into her private part severally until he was caught on 2nd June, 2023.
The matter was reported to the Police by his wife. He was subsequently arrested and detained for interrogation over his alleged conduct. And during interrogation, the Police discovered that he had done so severally.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor,  Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
Hence, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned while defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the  outcome of report of DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
