Man, 34, Arrested As Thief While Sneaking Into A Woman’s Room

A 34-year old randy man, Madu Damian, has landed in trouble in Lagos State after he attempted to sneak into a woman’s apartment to seduce her and he was arrested as a thief. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the woman,  Nkechi Okafor, raised alarm and alleged that Damian came to her apartment and stole her necklace worth N500,000.
The incident happened at Manisha Adegbola Street, Arida area of Ikotun, Lagos, where the complainant resides.
During interrogation at the Ikotun Police Station, Damain reportedly told the Police that he was not a thief that he only asked her to allow him to enter her apartment but she declined.
The Police then asked him if he was a tenant in the house but he said that he only knew the complainant and wanted to enter her room apartment for an undisclosed purposes.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified.
The matter was adjourned till 24th May, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
