Man, 34, Arrested For Stealing Hair Attachments Worth N3m Inside Tradefair Complex

Police operatives have arrested a 34-year old man, Obasi Francis, for allegedly stealing two bags of hair attachments worth N3m at the Tradefair Complex in Lagos State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Jerusalem Plaza at Tradefair Complex.
The suspect was said to have gone into the shop of the complainant, Okolie Ebere Stephen and stole the items.
However, before he would escaped with the goods, the security men on duty caught him and handed him over to the Police at Tradefair Division, where he was detained for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The charge read:
“That you, OBASI FRANCIS ‘M’ on the 9th day of March, 2025 at about 0900hrs at Jerusalem Plaza, Trade fair Complex, Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial district, did steal two sack bags of Hair Attachments valued the sum of Three Million Naira (N3,000,000.00) property of one Okolie Ebere Stephen ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287, of the criminal law of Lagos State 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M.Ogun, granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 15th April,2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
