A 34-year old man, Emeka Onwuachimba, has landed in trouble for allegedly tricking a 13-year old girl and engaging her in sex romp in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that he has been arrested and charged for statutory rape under the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
The incident happened at Pere Street, Orile Iganmu area of Lagos State, where the suspect resides.
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim, confused her with words of mouth and engaged her in sex. And having penetrated and satisfied himself,  he allowed her to go.
However, information leaked to the victim’s parents, who then interrogated her and she confessed that the suspect lured her into the act after confusing her.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested and later transferred to the SCID, Yaba, Lagos for further investigation over the alleged conduct.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to have slept with her but her consent and as such, he did not rape her as alleged by the complainant.

The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor,  Supol Nurudeen Thomas, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the seriousness of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. P.E. Nwaka, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center without an option of bail and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice  to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
