Man, 35, Docked For Abducting Girl, 17 & Engaging Her In S*x Romp For 2 Days

A 35-year old man, Joshua Ogabi, has been arrested and charged for allegedly abducting a 17-year old girl and engaged her in sex romp for two days in Lagos State. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 2nd March, 2024, at Togbe compound, Mowo, Badagry area of Lagos, where they reside.
The suspect, Ogabi, has been charged for abduction and statutory rape under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, told the Court that the defendant was the boyfriend to the victim, who was alleged to be missing by her parents but who later discovered that it was the defendant that abducted her and engaged her in sex romp.
”He took her to his house for two days without the consent of her parents.
He had carnal knowledge of her forcefully”, the prosecutor said.
DSP Ajayi stated that the alleged offence contravened the provisions of Sections 136 and 268 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 and asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Ex. Kubeinje, ordered Ogabi”s remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 24th April, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be made available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
The defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.
