Man, 35, Docked For Buying 14 Stolen iPhones Worth N5m From Thieves

Police operatives from the Commissioner of Police Special Squad 2, Ikeja, Lagos, have arrested a 35-year old man, Lucky Abu, for allegedly buying 14 stolen iPhones worth N5m from thieves. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Abu, was tracked to a market at Olodi Apapa area of Lagos State and some of the items stolen from the owner,  Humphrey Akujobi, were recovered.
The arrest followed a petition to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, who then directed the team led by one Joe Ugowe to trail and arrest the suspect. The operatives moved into action and eventually tracked the suspect.
Some of the items recovered as exhibits included the iPhones and iPad belonging to the complainant, which the Police seek to tender before the Court for his prosecution.
The Police found him culpable after rounds of interrogation and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted him in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at Kirikiri correctional center pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
