Man, 35, Docked For Inserting Finger Into Private Part Of Girl, 16

A 35-year old man, Henry Hensan, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly inserting  finger into the private part of a 16-year old girl in order to seduce her but the victim resisted and exposed him. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Henry, has been arrested and charged for sexual assault under the Criminal Laws of the State.
The incident happened at Abeokuta Street, Anifowoshe area of Ikeja, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect, Henry, lured the victim to his apartment and engaged her by inserting his finger into her private part to easily seduce her but the victim resisted and raised alarm and he eventually allowed her to go.
She reported what happened to her parents, who went to the Police in the area and reported the matter. He was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
After interrogation at the Gender Section, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged statutory rape, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 28th March, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
