Man, 36, Fondles Breasts, Lures Girl, 13, Into Sex

Police operatives in Lagos have arrested a 36-year old man, Temidayo Afolabi, who usually lures a 13-year old girl into sex romp after fondling her breasts and getting her confused.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Olaogun Street, Baruwa area of Ipaja, Lagos, where they reside.
It was gathered that the suspect, Afolabi, discovered the victim’s weakness when he first lured her into his apartment in 2019 when she was 12; he fondled her breasts, she got confused and was unable to resist him. He then engaged her in sex but warned her not to tell anyone what happened and she kept it to herself.
This continued in January, 2020, before it was leaked and the matter was reported to the Police. Afolabi was then arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for further interrogation.

It was gathered that at the Gender Section, Afolabi admitted and informed the Police that he did not force her as he did it with her consent. It was then the secret was revealed by the victim that he usually fondles her breasts which makes her become confused and unable to resist it.The Police found Afolabi culpable because of her age and later charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence. The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, ordered him remanded in prison custody without an option of bail. The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 21st May, 2020, while Afolabi will be in prison custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial for the alleged offence.
