Man, 37, Docked Over Attempts To Strangle 72-Year Old Mother

A 37-year old man, Alade Kolawole, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly attempting to strangle his 72-year old mother, Mrs. Oluwalambe Kolawole, before she was rescued by their neighbours. 
 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Bamgboye Street, Fagba area of Lagos State, where they reside.
The suspect, Alade, was said to have become angry as her old mother corrected him for wayward life on 15th December, 2022. When the mother tried again to advise against his waywardness,  he grabbed her, rained several blows on her and and attempted to strangle her before she was rescued by their neighbours.
His arrest and charge before the Court following a petition to the Commissioner of Police, who ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, to arrest him over the unruly conduct.
After thorough interrogation and having been found culpable, the Police charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty before the Court.
The prosecutor,  Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
He was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 28th February, 2023, for mention.
