Man, 38, In Trouble Over Alleged Abduction Of Lady, 22

A 38-year old man, Chison Eric, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly keeping a 22-year old lady, Miracle Okafor, in his house and engaging her in sex without the consent of her parents.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eric has been arrested and charged for abduction over his alleged conduct.

 

The incident happened at Olaoluwa Street, Ladilak area of Bariga, Lagos, where Eric resides.

 

The lady in question, Miracle Okafor, reportedly moved to Eric’s house and started living with him without the consent of her parents, who were said to be looking for her.

 

Eric was said to have accepted her in his house without the consent of her parents and started having sex with her without properly engaging her in marriage.

 

This angered her parents who reported the case of abduction against Eric and he was subsequently arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for the alleged offence.

 

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable for abduction by keeping the lady in his house without the knowledge of her parents and even engaging her in sex romp.

 

He was consequently charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

He pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned till 27th July, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
