A 38-year old man, Peter Omolaja, has been arrested after he allegedly tricked a 14-year old girl into sex by fondling her breasts, getting her confused and unable to resist him.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Divine Favour Street, off Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu area of Lagos, where they reside.

He is now facing the charge of defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty before the Court of Law over the dastardly act.

Police alleged the man, Peter, to have lured the girl to his apartment, used words of mouth to confuse her before he started fondling her breasts, which made her become more confused.
When she regained herself, he raised alarm and revealed what happened to her parents.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and Peter was arrested. He was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation.

At the Gender Section, he reportedly admitted and told the Police that it was done with her consent. But because of the girl’s age, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Victor Eruada, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M. O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town pending when the DPP’s report will be ready.

The Court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP while the matter was adjourned till 10th December, 2021, for the availability of the report of the DPP.

The matter may likely be transferred to the High Court if the DPP finds him culpable and recommends his trial over jurisdiction.
