A 39-year old man, Samuel Sunday, who has allegedly been molesting his neighbour’s 9-year old girl with his fingers in Lagos, has eventually been caught after he penetrated and defiled her in the process.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ijegemo area of Lagos, where they reside.

The Police alleged the suspect, Sunday, to have targeted the girl in the afternoon when her parents were not around, lured her into her apartment and defiled her.

However, one of their neighbours, who saw when the little girl was lured into his house, raised alarm. They confronted the girl and she revealed what happened.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and the suspect, Sunday, was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation over the alleged dastardly act.

After thorough interrogation, he was found culpable and subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E Kubeinje, ordered his remand in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 23rd November, 2021, for the report of the DPP to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
