Man, 39, Docked For Being In Possession Of Human Skull For Ritual Purposes

Police operatives from the Lagos State Command have arrested a 39-year old man,  Sherif Azeez, for being in possession of human skull, which he intended to use for ritual purposes. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Toll Gate on his way to an undisclosed destination before the Police intelligence apprehended him during routine monitoring in the area.
According to Police sources, the suspect, Azeez, was found with a bag containing some items, where he hid the skull.
However, it was exposed after the Police accosted him for routine check. He was searched to know what was in the bag and it was discovered to be human skull.
He was subsequently arrested and later transferred to the SCID, Yaba, for interrogation to know where he got the skull.
During interrogation, he reportedly denied that he killed anyone while claiming he bought it but did not disclose from whom he bought the skull found with him.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Yaba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Rita Momah, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Adeola Olatunbosun, granted him bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood.
The matter was adjourned till 27th July, 2022, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
