A 40-year old man, Blavo Mensan, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly defiling two of his under aged nieces, 9 and 5 through forceful penetration.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ali Street, Lagos Island, where they reside.

According to the Police, the suspect lured the daughters of his blood sister separately and engaged them in the act. But one of them informed their mother about what happened and in the process, the second victim also revealed that the suspect had done the same thing to her.

The matter was reported to the Police at Lion Building Division and the suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

The charges read:

“That you, Blavo Mensan ‘m’, on the 30th of January, 2025, at Ali Street, Lagos Island, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile your nieces by having forceful carnal knowledge of them and thereby ommitted an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal aws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

COUNT II: “That you, Blavo Mensan ‘m’, on the same date, time and ace, in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did commit the offence of incest by having forceful carnal knowledge of your nieces, aged 9 years and 5 years and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 28 of the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Law, 2021.”

The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
