Man, 40, Docked For R*ping His 21-Year Old Daughter

A 40-year old man, Opeyemi Ajala, has been arrested for allegedly raping his 21-year old biological daughter before he was exposed.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened in August, 2022, at Maya Compound, Gaa Legbedu area, Ogbomoso in Oyo State, where Ajala resides with the victim.
He has been ordered remanded at Abolongo Correctional Centre by the Chief Magistrates’ Court in Iyaganku, Oyo State, for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. Emmanuel Idowu, did not take Ajala’s plea when he was arraigned but ordered his remand in custody pending legal advice from the the Oyo State Directorate of Public prosecutions (DPP).
The matter was adjourned till 1st February, 2023, for mention for the report of DPP”s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
The Prosecution Counsel, ASP Amos Adewale, told the Court that the offence was contrary to the provisions of Section 357 and punishable under Section 358 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
The defendant risks maximum life imprisonment if he is tried for rape and found guilty before the Court.
