Man, 40, Docked For Tying Up & Defiling Girl,13, Armed With Knife

A 40-year old man, Taiye Illo, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly tying the mouth and hands of a 13-year old girl with rope while armed with a knife and defiling her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 5th October, 2025, at Illo Street, Ikeja area of Lagos..
According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim and forcefully engaged her in sex having intimidated and tied up her mouth and hands before he penetrated her.
Having satisfied himself,  he warned her not to tell anyone about it before he allowed her to go. But the victim exposed him by informing her parents about what happened.
Thus, the matter was reported to the Police at Ikeja Division. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained the suspect at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct against the victim.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Taiye Illo ‘m’, on the 5th day of October, 2025 at 23. Illo Street, Ikeja, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did defile the victim ‘f age 13years old by inserting your penis into her vagina and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
COUNT II: “That you, Taiye Illo ‘m’, on the same date, time and place in the said Magisterial District, did intimidate and threaten the victim with a knife when you had unlawful carnal knowledge of her and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 56 (b) of the Criminal of Lagos, State 2015.”
COUNT III:”That you, Taiye Illo ‘m’, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did attempt to murder the victim by tying her mouth and both hands with a rope and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 230 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.”
The Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the seriousness of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O.Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s legal advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
