A 40-year old man, Abiodun Alani Sobulo, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring and engaging his neighbour’s 10-year old girl in sex.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oyedele Oguniyi Street,  Anthony village, Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police, the man lured the girl, forcefully had sex with her by penetration and injured her private part in the process.

The matter was reported to the Police in the area and he was arrested. He was transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, without an option of bail pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.

The matter was adjourned till 7th August, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
