Man, 41 Raises Alarm Over Threat To Life

Olaniyi Olugbenga Joseph, a 41-year-old journalist with Independent News Express has cried out over threats to his life and his family by some people believe to be land grabbers who are after his life.
Olaniyi, who resides at 10 Mudashiru Street, Alagbado, Lagos, while narrating his ordeals to P.M.EXPRESS, alleged that the people who threatened his life claimed to deal with him, adding his case will be made worse if he dare report the matter to the Police.
According to him, trouble started for him when on 25 July 2024, some people came to a landed property willed to whom by his father within Alagbado area, and in the process or confronting them to know why they trespassed, they not only beat him mercilessly, but they warned him never to step on the land again if he valued his dear life.
“When I reported the incident to the traditional chief (Baale) controlling the area, the Chief advised me that I should be ready to surrender the land to the intruders as they are powerful people that even the police cannot control.
“I felt so bad that because this is a landed property I inherited from my dad,” Olaniyi said.
“My effort to secure the land since that time has proved abortive to the extent that those land grabbers invaded my house at 10 Mudashiru Street, Alagbado to beat me up in the presence of my wife, Mrs Olaniyi Felicia Adebola and my three children, Praise Olamide, Precious Florence and Prestige Enoch.

“It was an embarrassment for me that people in the neighborhood could not do anything because these people came with guns and cutlasses.
“I don’t know what to do as I had been warned not to bring in the law enforcement agents.
“I don’t know what to do again. My life has been in danger ever since 25 July 2024,”Olaniyi said.
