Police operatives from the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command have arrested a 42-year old man, who allegedly defiled his 13-year old daughter.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ibatiba Osborne, Mende, Maryland area of Lagos, where they reside.

According to Police sources, the man lured the girl, forcefully engaged her and eventually defiled her.

The girl later revealed what happened to her mother and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. The man was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Command for interrogation.

After investigation, the Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him to Court.
When he was arraigned, the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Supol Kehinde Ajayi, told the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice in order to determine the jurisdiction where the defendant will be tried.
Hence, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.O. Ajibade, ordered his remand in custody and directed the Prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice while the defendant will remain in custody pending the outcome of DPP’s report.

The matter was adjourned due to the strike by Judicial workers which made the Court not to have sat for several weeks.
