A 42-year old man, Idowu Olowoyo, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for defiling his biological daughter after rubbing cream on her private part for easy penetration.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Egbeda Street, Iju Ishaga area of Lagos where they reside.
The suspect was alleged to have molested the victim severally by inserting his fingers and dick into her private part. When he realized he will not be able to penetrate her because the victim complained of pains anytime he wanted to penetrate her, he reportedly brought a cream. He used the cream on her private part and eventually penetrated her severally before the victim revealed what he was doing to her mother.
The matter was reported to the Child Protection Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Youths and Social Development, which went to the Iju Police Division and reported the matter.
The Police moved into action and arrested him. He was transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over his alleged dastardly conduct.
After rounds of interrogation at the Gender Section, the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for defilement, which attracts several years of imprisonment or life imprisonment.
The Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice because of the nature of the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s legal advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP.
The matter was adjourned till 23rd April, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
