Man, 43, Docked For Allegedly Stealing N54,000 Shoe At JustRite Superstore

A 43-year old man, Eweje Olusegun, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing a pair of shoe worth N54,000 at JustRite superstore.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the Justrite Superstore, Kola, Alagbado area of Lagos State.
According to the Police, the suspect allegedly stole the items but was caught by the security guards on duty and handed over to the management over his alleged conduct.
He was then handed him over to the Police at Alagbado Division. He was detained there and having been found culpable after interrogation, he was later charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Eweje Olusegun ‘M’ on the 22nd of February, 2025 at about 1730pm, did steal two pairs of shoes valued Fifty-Four Thousand Naira only (N54, 000.00K) property of Justrite Superstore and thereby by committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 287 of Criminal Law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.”
However, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, granted him bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
