Man, 44, Docked For Repeatedly Engaging Neighbour’s Daughter, 6, In Sex

A 44-year old man, Ayo Olukuwajo, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly engaging and repeatedly defiling his neighbour’s 6-year old daughter. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Adesanya Street, Mafoluku – Oshodi, Lagos, where they reside.
According to the Police, the suspect was said to have repeatedly engaged the victim in the act whenever she returned from school and her mother had gone to work.
However, the whole thing got exposed after the victim told the proprietress of her school, who in turn contacted her mother and informed her what the victim revealed against the suspect.
Thus, the mother reported to the Police in the area and the suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Command. He was detained there for interrogation over the alleged offence.
After rounds of interrogation,  the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
“That you, Ayo Olukuwajo ‘m’, on the 3rd day of February, 2025, at about 1500hours, at No. 39, Adesanya Street, Mafoluku – Oshodi, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did defile the victim ‘f 6years old by having sexual intercourse with her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned after the prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, asked the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Kusanu, ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
