The Police operatives attached to Ipakodo Division in Ikorodu area of Lagos have arrested a 45-year old man, Kayode Adeyanju, for allegedly defiling his 14-year old daughter.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the victim shunned all consequences and took the bold step to report the misconduct of her biological father to the Police.

This was disclosed by the Lagos Police Command spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the suspect was in custody.

He said: “The 45 years old suspect, Kayode Adeyanju, of Redeemed Church, Tinubu Estate, Ibeshe, Ikorodu, Lagos, forcefully defiled his 14 years old daughter”.

“After the molestation by her biological father, the survivor did not hesitate; she went straight and reported her father to the Police operatives attached to Ipakodo Division, Ikorodu. And on Monday, the 7th June, 2021, at about 1pm, the Police arrested the suspect, after her horrible ordeal in the hands of her father.”

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has condemned the act and ordered that the case be transferred to the Gender Unit of the Command for further investigation.

The suspect risks life imprisonment if he is charged before the Court, tried and found culpable for the alleged offence of defilement.
