Man, 50, In Police Net For Stripping Wife Naked In Public

A 50-year old man, Ogbonna Oji, has been arrested for publicly disgracing his wife, Mercy, by stripping her naked in the presence of their neighbours in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Borno Way, Ebute Meta area of Lagos, where they reside.

The Police alleged the man, Oji, to have attacked the wife over an undisclosed disagreement. While she was returning, he stripped naked her before some of their neighbours looked for a wrapper to cover her up but before then other neighbours had already seen her nakedness.

The matter was reported at Denton Police Division and Oji was arrested.

After interrogation and having been found culpable, he was subsequently charged before the Court of Law for the alleged offence.

When he was arraigned, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Loveth Edobor, asked the Court to give a date for hearing to enable the Police to prove he actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. O. Akingbesofe, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum while the matter was adjourned till 22nd December, 2021, for mention.

However, the defendant, Oji, will remain in custody pending when he will perfect his bail conditions while he was said to have been making efforts to settle with his wife having admitted he did so out of anger.
