Man, 55, Docked For Engaging Girl, 11 In S*x After Fondling Her Breasts

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Chidi, has been arrested and charged for defilement under the Criminal Laws of the State.

The incident happened at Osunba Street, Akesan area of Igando, Lagos, where they reside.

According to the Police, the suspect allegedly lured the victim into his apartment, romanced her by touching her breasts, which got her confused and he engaged her in sex severally before he allowed her to go having satisfied himself.

However, the whole act got exposed after the victim revealed what happened to her parents and the matter was reported to the Police at Igando Division. The suspect was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over the alleged conduct.

During the interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted to have done so but with her consent. But the Police found him culpable and consequently charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for defilement and indecent treatment of a child.

However, the Court did not take his plea when he was arraigned following a motion moved by the prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubeinje, ordered that he should be remanded in custody at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and  directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 25th June, 2024, for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
