Man, 58, Lands In Trouble For Inserting Finger Into Private Part Of Girl, 9, Inside Market

A 58-year old man, Lambert Nwokedi, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring a 9-year old girl and inserting his finger into her private part for sexual satisfaction inside the market. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect has been arrested and charged for sexual assault.

 

The incident happened on 18th June, 2025, at Kola Market, Ijaye Ojokoro area of Lagos.

 

According to the Police, the suspect lured the victim into his shop, pulled her pants and inserted his finger into her private part. And while he was doing it, he was caught in the process.

 

The matter was reported to the Police in the area. He was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Command for interrogation over his alleged conduct.

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

 

The charge read:

“That you, Lambert Nwokedi ‘m’, on the 18th day of June 2025, at about 1930hours, at Kola Market, Ijaye Ojokoro, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault and penetrate the vagina of the victim, f’ 9years old by putting your finger into her vagina and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

However,  the Court did not take his plea after the prosecutor, Lucky Ihiehie asked the Court to refer the matter to DPP for legal advice because of the seriousness of the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP’s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
