Man, 75, Sent To Prison For Inserting Finger Into Private Part Of Girl, 8

A 75-year old man, Lamidi Orilonise, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly luring an 8-year old girl and inserting his finger into her private part in order to satisfy his sexual desires and the victim exposed him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the elderly man, Lamidi Orilonise, has been arrested and charged for statutory rape under the Criminal Law of the State over his alleged conduct.
The incident happened on 29th of September, 2025, at Adebare Street, Oworonshoki area of Lagos.
According to the Police, the man lured the victim to his apartment, removed her pants and penetrated her private part with his fingers. And having satisfied himself, he allowed her to go but warned her not to tell anyone about it.
However, the victim revealed what happened to her parents and the matter was reported to the Police in the area. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command for further investigation.
After interrogation at the Gender Section, the Police found him culpable and charged him before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charge read:
“That you, Lamidi Orilonise ‘m’, on the 29th day of September, 2025, at No. 2. Adebare Street, Oworonshoki, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did sexually assault the victim ‘f 8years by penetrating her vagina with your finger and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, the Court did not take his plea following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Mr. Lucky Ihiehie, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for legal advice.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, ordered his remand in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending the outcome of the DPP’s advice and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send it to the DPP for legal advice.
The matter was adjourned for mention for the report of the DPP”s advice to be available, which will determine if the matter will be transferred to the High Court or not over jurisdiction.
