Man Arraigned For Impregnating Another Man’s Wife & Inducing Abortion

A businessman, Mamuda Duma, has been arrested and charged in Adamawa State for allegedly impregnating another man’s and inducing abortion in order to cover up by terminating the three months pregnancy. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Chief Magistrate Court I, sitting in the Adamawa State capital, Yola, has ordered his remand in custody over his alleged conduct against the woman’s husband.
Duma was charged following a report by the woman’s husband, Ahmadu Lawal, who was said to have made every efforts to prevail on him to leave his wife severally.
According to the Police, the complainant, Lawal, who is from Yola town in Yola South LGA, told the Court that the defendant, who resides at Wurojabbe in Yola North LGA, was having an affair with his wife.
He narrated that when he learnt of the affair last year, he called the defendant on the phone three different times to warn him but he ignored him and continued with the relationship.
The embattled husband informed the Court that the defendant made his wife abort her three-month pregnancy, after which he reported the defendant to the Police at Yola State Command headquarters.
An embittered Lawal stated further that  the defendant and some of his friends had earlier pleaded with him to withdraw the case, promising that he would stop seeing his wife and he withdrew the matter.
However, the defendant continued with the affair and he went back to the Police to report before the matter was charged before the Court.
However, the defendant denied the allegations and pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The Presiding Chief Magistrate, Muhammed Njidda, ordered that he be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the matter till 1st September, ,2025, for trial.
